Learn Jamaican Live™ Terms of Participation

This Website is not owned by Tutors' Engine TEng but the Learn Jamaican Live™ (LJL for short) course outline, paraphernalia and events are the creation and/or property of Tutors' Engine TEng. Your use of this website is governed by the Owner's Terms of Use and access to our events is governed by these Terms of Participation. By ordering access to this event, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Participation. The reproduction of this event format is strictly discouraged without the expressed permission of Tutors' Engine TEng.

Participation

This event is open to persons 18 years and older and children with adult supervision. Persons should:

• Know or recognize the letters of the English alphabet
• Tolerate Jamaican culture and faith
• Respect all persons on the video call.

Participants should have an attention span of up to 90 minutes and be comfortable using technology to better their chances of qualifying and winning. No guarantees are offered that additional support services will be available for:

• persons with sensory impairments such as the blind or deaf
• non-English speakers.

Participants are asked to make every effort to ensure that where they join the video call is quiet and well-lit. To order these services or access to these events, you affirm: 1) you are 18 years or older; 2) that you can be readily contacted by the email you provide, and 3) that you have regular access to the internet to be able to join the online event via Zoom. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, only one participant can take the tour and the same compete in the qualifier and Game Show. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, assistance in competing is strictly forbidden and can result in disqualification without a refund.

Confidentiality

Your bank card information is handled solely by the Payment Processor and its service providers and is protected as stipulated in their Privacy Policy. Reasonable steps will be taken by Tutors' Engine TEng to protect other personal information, such as email and user name, from misuse. You acknowledge and agree:

• Tutors' Engine TEng will not be liable for protection or any potential misuse of personal information that it, its representatives or associates are not privy to; and/or

• You will comply with any confidentiality obligations notified to you by Tutors' Engine TEng.

Event delivery

By accessing this event, you agree to join via Zoom. By participating in the quizzes, you agree to be recorded for streaming to the TutorsEngine YouTube channel and other Channels and platforms for free. You also agree that recordings, and screenshots derived therefrom, can be used free of charge by Tutors' Engine for promotional purposes. No guarantees are offered that internet, Zoom or third-party apps will work reliably and we apologize in advance for any unforeseen delay or postponements that may inconvenience you. You agree to release Tutors' Engine TEng, its representatives or associates from any obligations for losses other than to, within reasonable limits, reschedule an event for a mutually convenient time if more than the first hour of an event is lost.

Third-party Apps or Websites

This event may use links to third-party apps or websites. These apps or websites have not been prepared by and are not controlled by us. They are provided for your convenience and enhancement of your online experience only, and do not imply that Tutors' Engine TEng nor its representatives or associates check, endorse, approve or agree with third-party apps or websites that are shared throughout these events. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to release Tutors' Engine TEng, its representatives or associates of any liability in respect of any third-party apps or websites used in good faith for your learning and/or entertainment.

Prizes

Tutors' Engine TEng does not guarantee prizes will be offered at every or any event or that prize winners will benefit if the prize givers are overbooked, the prize expires, they go out-of-business, or winners fail to comply with guidelines from prize givers. Payment is for entry to the event and only that - prizes are a bonus. No refunds after 7 days to the event or subsequently. Under no circumstances should contestants expect to receive money in place of a non-cash prize. Prizes will typically be redeemable in Jamaica. As such, contestants should be eligible and prepared to travel to Jamaica within the stated expiry period. Prizes are transferable solely at the discretion of the prize giver.

All Liability Excluded

To the extent permitted by law:

• All warranties, representations and guarantees (whether express, implied or statutory) are excluded, including without limit, suitability, fitness for purpose, accuracy or completeness of information in these events,

• Tutors' Engine TEng will not be liable for any damage, loss or expenses, or indirect losses or consequential damages of any kind, suffered or incurred by you in connection with your access to our events or your use of this Website, or the content on, or accessed through, it.

Jurisdiction and Governing Law

These events, services and products are offered from Jamaica or its Diaspora in accordance with the requirements of Jamaican law. By ordering these products, access to any of these events and/or of these services, you consent that any matters or disputes connected with these events and services will be governed by Jamaican laws and will be settled through mediation online by gazetted Jamaica-based mediators or as absolute last resort, dealt with by Jamaican courts in Jamaica. By using these services you agree to give up your right to: pursue class or collective action against Tutors' Engine TEng, its representatives or associates under these Terms.
